Spiral-wound gaskets
Spiral-wound gaskets combine a preformed thin metallic strip with a soft sealing composite material. When wound, the sealing element functions as a spring, compressing under applied pressure between the two flange faces. SWGs can be used standalone or in conjunction with inner and/or outer rings.
Deployed where performance is paramount.
Our spiral-wound gaskets are available in a full range of styles and materials across the global LoneStar Group. Our deep inventory of high-performance, approved and accredited seals and gaskets is manufactured in accordance with ASME B15.20 for use in all industry flanges, including ASME/ANSI B16, ASME B16.47, Series A and B, or to any non-standard dimensions requested by our customers.

Style S
A standalone sealing element where the ID is reinforced with several layers of metal winding. Integrated filler material further augments the seal’s conformity and performance.
Style CS
Utilises an external ring where a sealing element is inserted into the grooved ID. The centring ring is designed to guide the gasket on a bolted flange and provide radial strength.
Style SI
Here a solid inner ring is used to prevent overcompression. This design is also helpful in turbulent applications that can cause erosion of the flange faces.
Style CSI
Suited for high-pressure, high-temperature applications. The CSI gasket includes an inner ring proven to successfully eliminate inward buckling of the sealing element.
