Austenitic stainless steel
Description
304 stainless steel is the most widely used austenitic stainless steel, known for its excellent corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and versatility. It is part of the 300 series stainless steels and is often referred to as 18/8 stainless steel because it typically contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel.
304 stainless steel can also be supplied to petrochemical standards including ASTM A193 B8 & ASTM A194 8 in both solution annealed (class 1) and strain hardnened (class 2) condition
