Ring-type joints (RTJs)

Ring-type joints (RTJs) are precision-engineered metallic sealing rings, suitable for high-temperature, high-pressure applications. Under bolt load, the softer gasket metal flows into the micro-fine structure of the harder flange, creating an exceptionally tight, efficient seal.

Safety-critical, fully documented integrity barriers

The LoneStar Group maintains API 6A licenses in key strategic locations and marketplaces. This enables us to manufacture and distribute numerous RTJ profiles to suit a broad, ever-evolving scope of industry-standard flanges with end-to-end traceability.

RTJ reference guide – explore common designs, styles and sealing elements

Style R

Manufactured in accordance with both API 6A and ASME B16.20 size/ratings. Available in oval and octagonal configurations, both types are interchangeable on modern octagonal type grooved flanges.

Style RX

Pressure-energised adaptations of Style R versions, designed to fit the same groove design standard. Style RX gaskets improve the efficiency of the seal as internal system pressure increases.

Style SRX

RJT gaskets based on Style RX versions. They are designed with a special drilled vent hole for use in Subsea applications and are engineered in accordance with API 17D.

Style BX

All pressure-energised BX gaskets use a pressure balance hole to equalise trapped gases that may be trapped in their grooves. Manufactured in accordance with API 6A, they are effective at up to 20,000 psi.

Style SBX

Similar to Style BX versions, SBX gaskets are also designed with a special drilled vent hole for underwater use. They are manufactured in accordance with API 17D.
